Clean shower glass and hard water stains

Remove soap scum and mineral spots, and keep them from coming back.

Cloudy shower glass is usually soap scum plus mineral deposits from hard water. A mild acid dissolves minerals; regular squeegeeing prevents them.

Steps

  1. Spray the glass with a mix of equal parts warm white vinegar and water, with a drop of dish soap.
  2. Let it sit 10 to 15 minutes.
  3. Scrub with a non-scratch sponge; use a paste of baking soda for stubborn spots.
  4. Rinse and squeegee dry.

Prevent it

  • Squeegee the glass after every shower
  • Keep a daily shower spray handy
  • Leave the door open or the fan running to dry the shower
