How to deep clean a home, room by room
The jobs a weekly routine misses, and the order to do them in.
A deep clean reaches the places a weekly routine skips: inside appliances, behind furniture, light fixtures and baseboards. Do it seasonally, or spread it over a month, one room at a time.

- Clean windows, sills and tracks
- Wash or vacuum curtains and blinds
Kitchen
- Clean inside the oven, microwave and refrigerator

- Wipe cabinet fronts and handles
- Clean the dishwasher filter
Bathrooms
- Scrub grout and re-seal if needed
- Descale showerheads and faucets
- Wash the shower curtain and liner
- Clean the exhaust fan cover
Bedrooms
- Wash pillows, duvets and mattress protectors (check labels)
